Registered Massage Therapy (RMT)
Every registered massage therapist at McFadden Chiropractic and Massage Niagara is fully licensed, has had the appropriate training, and has the credentials to direct bill to insurance companies.
The massage therapy treatment lengths differ by 15 minute increments, and include between 30 minutes and 90 minutes.
There are MANY different techniques and types of massage depending on what you need!
General Swedish Massage
This is the most common form of massage. This is often the treatment style chosen for relaxation or general tightness. It focuses on long massage strokes that are rhythmic in nature. This is able to decrease the sensitivity of the sympathetic nervous system putting you in a deep sense of relaxation. This form of massage includes many different techniques ranging from strictly relaxation to some therapeutic deep muscle work.
The areas worked on during this treatment could range from a full body treatment including the back, shoulders, neck, legs and arms, or could be more specific to focus on any trouble areas.
Deep Tissue Massage
The deep tissue techniques are geared towards specific problem areas that may need more pressure to alleviate the symptoms. Each therapist is able to perform deep tissue massage up to the tissue and patient tolerance. These techniques may involve some pain during and soreness after the treatment, but ultimately does help treat the target area.
A deep tissue massage will also have some relaxation and lighter techniques included in between the deeper work.
